Proposition A includes the purchase of 1 new charter bus and replacement of district vehicles past their useful life. Over one-third of the RCISD activity bus fleet is approaching or past its useful life.

Reagan County ISD homeowners age 65 and older will not be impacted financially by the proposed bond if they have filed for and received the Over-65 Homestead Exemption with the County Central Appraisal District. Their taxes are frozen and cannot exceed their frozen dollar amount. Note: In 2019, Texas Legislators passed a new law as part of HB 3 that requires all bond propositions for any school district to have the phrase ‘THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE’’ on all ballot language for bond propositions. Due to this requirement, all voters will see this statement on the official ballot language, even when there is no tax rate increase as a result of the bond.

Seniors and parents: Due to seniors taking ACT on Tuesday, October 18th, there will be NO Late Arrival Senior Privilege. ALL seniors will be expected to be at school at 7:55 a.m.

Bond 2022 has NO TAX IMPACT. The ballot language states “THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE” but with the passage of the bond the overall tax rate will decrease.
