**New Cell Phone Law- What Parents Need to Know
Texas House Bill 1481 takes effect for the 2025-2026 school year, directly impacting how students use cell phones in school.
Under this new law:
Students are not allowed to use cell phones in the school building during the instructional day.
Schools must enforce policies that limit or prohibit the use of electronic devices.
Reagan County ISD is reviewing and updating our policy to comply with this law. More details will be shared soon, but we wanted to give families a heads-up now so students can begin preparing for the changes.

Nueva Ley de Teléfonos Celulares- Lo que los Padres Necesitan Saber
La ley estatal, Texas House Bill 1481, entra en práctica el año escolar 2025-2026, y tendrá un impacto directo en cómo los estudiantes utilizan los teléfonos celulares en la escuela.
Bajo esta nueva ley:
Los estudiantes no están autorizados a utilizar teléfonos celulares en el edificio de la escuela durante el día de instrucción.
Las escuelas deben aplicar las políticas que limitan o prohíben el uso de dispositivos.
El distrito escolar, Reagan County ISD, está revisando y actualizando la política para cumplir con esta ley. Más detalles serán compartidos pronto, pero les queremos dejar saber ahora para que los estudiantes puedan comenzar a prepararse para los cambios.

Parents of 2025/2026 school year 7th graders
The state of Texas requires students entering the 7th grade to have the following immunizations before they start the school year:
Meningococcal (MCV4)
Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis
(Tdap)
You will be receiving a letter next week with this and more information for you. Please take care of this sometime between now and the beginning of the new school year. We appreciate you and are here to assist you in any way we can.
